Settings
Displayed Axis
For sensors that collect data in three dimensions (accelerometer, gyroscope, and magnetometer), this setting allows the user to independently display the x, y, z and/or total resultant data.
Data Display
Most sensors allow a Graph or a Digital readout (numbers).
Displayed Graphs
For Roller Coaster setting, multiple sets of data are collected (g-force meter, linear accelerometer, and barometer). Options for display (against time), include:
-
g-force meter and barometer
-
g-force meter and gyroscope
-
g-force meter and linear accelerometer
-
linear accelerometer and barometer
Regardless of displayed graphs, data is recorded for all measurements in a saved CSV file.
Data Filter
Data filters allow users to display and record data that has been manipulated to better identify trends. To learn more about each type of filter, reference the blog post, "Beyond the Data: A Primer on Filters." Data recorded using a filter contains manipulated data (not raw data). The following filters are available:

CSV Timestamp Font
Recorded data can display time as either Clock Time (using current local time to the nearest nearest 0.001 seconds) or Elapsed Time (starting at t = 0 to the nearest 0.0001 seconds).
Sensor Collection Rate
Sensor collection rate is dependent upon the hardware in a device, and cannot be manually calibrated to a specific frequency. Relative rates, however, can be set, using Fastest (fastest rate for the device), Game (suitable for gaming), UI (at a rate suitable for screen orientation changes), or Normal (slowest rate for the device).
Line Width
Width of the data displayed on the graph can be modified to be Thin, Medium, or Thick.
Keep the Screen On
When collecting data for a longer period of time, select this option to prevent the screen from inadvertently turning off. (For some devices, data collection and recording stops when the screen turns off).
Alert
The Magnetometer allows users to set an alert. Users may select the threshold value (in microTesla), at which point the app will produce a tone.
Calibrate
Calibration about users to automatically or manually adjust data by re-setting the starting measurement to a given value. To learn more about calibration, reference the blog post, "Beyond the Data: A Primer on Filters." Data recorded using a filter contains manipulated data (not raw data).
Calibration is available for the following sensors:
-

-
Gyroscope (automatic calibration to 0, 0, 0 in Physics Toolbox Sensor Suite PRO only)
